Marge Dziwulski is a speech-language pathologist with a license to practice in North Carolina. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American SpeechLanguage-Hearing Association (1979) and certification in Neurodevelopmental Therapy. Throughout her career Marge has worked in a variety of settings such as early intervention programs, school systems and cerebral palsy centers in Upstate New York and Boston, MA as a Speech-Language Pathologist. While in these positions she evaluated and developed treatment programs for at-risk infants, toddlers, preschool and school-aged children as well as adults presenting with developmental disabilities and subsequent speech and language difficulties. Treatment during this time often incorporated designing and implementing high and low tech dedicated communication devices for individuals that she serviced.

Since moving to North Carolina in the summer of 1991 Marge has focused much of her attention on understanding the relationship between speech-language and literacy in individuals with developmental disabilities. In January 1993, she began working at the Center for Literacy and Disabilities Studies at UNC Chapel Hill as a research associate collecting data for research studies, doing written language evaluations and developing treatment programs to increase literacy skills in individuals with developmental disabilities. She also conducted several workshops for Wake County Public School System on literacy and disabilities. Over the past two years she has acted as a consultant to Wake County Public School staff in making classrooms literacy rich and increasing literacy skills with students at the high school level presenting with developmental disabilities and/or reading disabilities.
